St Peter’s Church was consecrated in 1747, and its old title was The Ancient Chapelry of Formby, St Peter. The original building was nearer the sea, and following it’s destruction in a storm, the present building was constructed further inland.
Its architecture is unique, consisting of the original Georgian Nave, with the Victorian mock-Gothic Chancel added in the 19th Century.
