Charity walk this weekend from Bowlers Riding School Formby for Breast Cancer Care
In 2018, Karen Pinnington was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer.
'Breast Cancer Care' played a significant role in her recovery. 'Breast Cancer Care' are a specialist UK-wide charity, providing much needed care, support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer. Having now recovered from breast cancer,
Karen would like to raise money for this excellent charity, and help other women affected by this disease. Therefore, she has organised a five mile charity walk. The walk will start at Bowlers Riding School, Formby. Karen has been riding weekly at Bowlers Riding School for the past eighteen years.
Bowlers Riding School also played a huge role in Karen's recovery from breast cancer. Getting back to the horses and riding was the goal that kept Karen going throughout her treatment! Also, the kindness shown by friends and staff from Bowlers Riding School provided a huge boost towards her recovery.
Another very important reason for starting this 'Breast Cancer Care' charity walk at Bowlers is that Karen's very good friend Mary Bowler, owner of Bowlers Riding School, has also had breast cancer. Happily, Mary Bowler has also made a great recovery and supports Karen in her wish to raise money to help other women who are diagnosed with breast cancer.
The support for Karen from Bowlers Riding School has not ended with her recovery. Karen is immensely grateful for the support of three good friends - Susie Spear, Lynette Marsden and Janet Sellars - who have so very kindly agreed to participate in this charity walk. We hope that people will please sponsor us and help fund the highly valuable work of 'Breast Cancer Care'.
