Over £400 was raised at the Formby Group Blooming Great Tea Party!
Marie Curie’s Formby Fundraising Group hosted a Blooming Great Tea Party at Formby Tennis Club on 19th August raising £412.
Locals popped in to enjoy a cuppa and piece of cake to raise funds for the terminal illness charity.
Entertainment on the day was provided by the Formby U3A Ukelele band.
Group member Ann Metford said: “We all had a great time at the tea party. We held a raffle on the day, and we would like to thank the generosity of local shops and businesses who provided both raffle prizes, and cakes to sell. We we’re totally overwhelmed by the fantastic response we got, thank you to all who donated, and all who came along to enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake on the day.”
Thanks also to the Tennis Club for granting permission for us to hold the tea party, and to the U3A Ukelele band who kept us all so well entertained.”
The group’s next activities will be Christmas collections at the Lady Green Garden Centre on 2nd and 3rd December and a street collection in Formby on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th December. If you can spare a couple of hours to collect, or if you belong to a choir or band who could provide entertainment at the street collection please call 0151 801 1412.
