Former Range Student Picked for England Ladies Rugby Team!
Range was delighted last month to hear of ex-student Holly Aitchison’s selection for the England Rugby Union 7s squad. Holly made her debut on the first weekend of March in the Las Vegas 7s, part of the World Sevens Series.
Holly’s sporting talent was evident from the very beginning of her career at Range. Representing the school in a number of sports, Holly shone at all of them. In rugby, she captained a talented U15 team in the National Finals at Twickenham and was voted Player of the Tournament in the Northern School 7s (U18) when still in Year 11, where a young Range team were tournament runners-up.
Holly left Range in 2014 to take up an Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence at Hartpury College. In the two and a half years since she left, Holly has represented England twice in the European U18 Sevens Championship, played 15-a-side rugby for England U20s and made her mark in the Women’s Premiership with Lichfield RUFC which currently lies second in England’s top flight. Her latest achievement makes her the youngest England player and one of the youngest players from any country playing in the World Sevens Series.
The school is very proud of Holly and congratulates her on her sporting success!
