An elderly lady had to wait nearly two hours for an ambulance after falling into the road

On the Thursday 8th December at 2:05pm an elderly woman had fallen off her mobility scooter and into the road on Brows Lane in Formby. She was still waiting for an ambulance almost two hours later!

The traffic had to stop and the Police were called to close off the road whilst they waited for the ambulance which did not arrive until 3:45pm. The whole time, the elderly lady was lying on the floor with a blanket around her head. Brows Lane was shut off from Freshfield Road end to the corner of Michael's Close.

The Police and the ladies carers waited with her until the ambulance arrived at the scene. The lady was taken to hospital and is said to be shaken but not injured.
