Formby Junior Sports Club news and Frank's report


FRANK'S REPORT 12 Sep, 2016

It was a very good start to the football season for Formby Junior Sports Club with a record number of twenty-eight Representative teams in action. In addition to this, over two hundred and sixty children played in Inter Club matches at Deansgate Lane last Saturday.

BOYS’ REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS

Last season’s league champions FJSC Under 14 United won 8 nil against Mitch Green. This included a Sean Jones hat trick, two goals from Ben Adams and one goal each from Joe Hampson and Joe McElhinney. FJSC Under 14 Blacks also had a comfortable win against S and B Rangers Yellow. Lewis Constable produced a high scoring performance. Callum Richmond, James Cunningham, Sam Kendrick and Bryn Macy were also amongst the goals.

FJSC Under 13 Whites gained three points with a 7-2 victory over Burscough Dynamo Whites. Tom Harrison scored a second half hat trick. Scoring one goal each were Joe Blanchard, Oscar Thompson, Tom Elder and Jack Lemmon. FJSC Under 13 Blacks gained a 7-3 win at Hesketh Colts.

FJSC Under 15’s had five different goal scorers in their win also at Hesketh Colts. Pedro Gomes and Owen Highton scored three goals each. James Honour, Max Sumner and Oliver Morton also scored one apiece. Conor Dewhurst was man of the match.

FJSC Under 18’s drew 2-2 at home to Jaguar Whites. In the same division there were impressive away victories for FJSC Under 18 Whites at Jaguar Red and FJSC Under 18 Blacks at Birkdale United.

The two FJSC Under 12 teams lost their first matches of the season. FJSC Whites lost 5-1 at home to Ormskirk whilst the Under 12 Blacks played well but lost 3 nil to Churchtown Athletic. Tobias Firth- Griffiths was man of the match and Sonny Carroll played well in defence.

The two FJSC Under11 teams made encouraging starts to the season. The Whites had a very even encounter with Southport Trinity White. Steven Mordaunt and Bobby Hersey scored. Man of the match was Sam Colbourne. FJSC Under 11 Blacks played Hesketh Colts Blue. Man of the match was goalkeeper Taylor Twentyman. Jacob Lewis, Alex Gunn and Harry Knowles were on target with goals.

New team FJSC Under 10 Whites made an impressive start at Jaguars. Ioannis Kardoulias, Jacob Heaney, Dominic Baines, Alex Farrell, Will Greenwood and Ben Moore all scored. Caleb Johnson made some great saves in goal for FJSC Under 10 Blacks in a close match with Redgate Rovers Yellow.

There was a good display from FJSC Under 9’s at S and B Rangers Red. Another goalkeeper, Charlie Lynch was player of the match. Lewis Parker, Nathan Cousens, Corey Ashworth, Jamie Simpson, and Josh Kenn were all marksmen.

This season there are three FJSC under 8 teams including new team Rangers. Jamie Savage scored Rangers goal against Redgate Rovers Yellow and was voted man of the match. All the boys played well and enjoyed their first taste of football against another club. FJSC Under 8 Whites played FJSC Blacks. The match had great goals, drama, near misses and a fantastic finish. Connor Daulby and Dilan Sathiyanathan scored for the Whites and Finley Richards and Thomas Dent were scorers for the Blacks.

FJSC’s two new Under 7 teams were also playing for the first time. The Whites played Hesketh Colts. It was a good all round team effort from the team with Danny Allmark, Jamie Jawook, George Dent, Jacob Lynch and Rohan Maker all scoring on their debuts. FJSC Blacks also made a pleasing start with a good team effort at Phoenix. Archie Beckett, Lewis Forsyth and Max McBride were the team’s scorers.

GIRLS’ REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS

In the West Lancs Girls’ League FJSC Under 15’s won 6-2 away at Euxton Villa. Nina Macy scored a hat trick and Anna Rutherford, Charlotte Doyle and Sophie Dixon added one goal each. Charlotte Armstrong played well on her debut. FJSC Under 14’s lost 4 nil to Ashton Athletic. Lucy Robins was player of the match. FJSC Under 17’s had no fixture.

The Hightown Girls’ League also got underway on Sunday. FJSC Under 13 Jets played against a strong Maghull team. Despite losing 7-1 the Jets played well. Liberty Murphy scored a late goal. Jess Mordaunt played well in midfield and Simone Jones and Dot Russell-Gajos also had good matches.

FJSC Under 12 United Girls won their match against S and B Rangers. Hannah Allmark, Bella Plows, Freya Thornton and Yasmin Jones were all scorers. FJSC Under 12 Rangers lost in an exciting match with Litherland Remyca. Lily Hall and Erin Denison were on target. Chloe Siliprandi , Helena Davies and Rosie Degeir all worked tirelessly.

Aalijah Turner, Eva Sears and Yasmin Godsall scored one goal each for FJSC Under 11 Albion in the fixture with Hesketh Colts. There was good defending from Ella Stainton, Pippa Gowling and Sofia O’nchorage. FJSC Under 11 Real played a friendly against Oxton. Maisie Cox scored with a stunning strike.

Bo Price, Chloe Price and Paige Leather netted for FJSC Under 10 Hotspurs in a hard fought game with Dynamo Rangers.

FJSC INTER CLUB SECTION

Records were set last Saturday at Inter Club.

It was the biggest Inter Club attendance for three years

One hundred and ten girls played Inter Club football. This was also a new record.

Over one hundred and twenty children took part in additional coaching on offer to Inter Club members.

Every age group in the Inter Club Section showed an increase in numbers from the first Saturday of the season.

As a result three divisions will see an increase in the number of teams. The Years Four/Five Boys’ Division; Years Six/Seven Boys’ Division and the Girls’ Three/Four/Five Division will all have six teams instead of the original four teams planned provided the numbers remain at a high level.

YEARS TWO/THREE BOYS - Liam Kirk, Harry Lofthouse, Finley Richards, Dilan Sathiyanathan, Zach Williams, Eddy Vos, Connor Daulby, Rohan Maker, Daniel Mortimer, Jamie Jawook, Ryan Kennedy, Raffy Davies, Dan McKenna, Finlay Hunter, Thomas Dent and Lucas Rawlins.

YEARS FOUR/FIVE BOYS - Dominic Baines, Charlie Stevenson, Jacob Heaney, Corey Ashworth, Fraser Kingsley, Josh Kenn, Ioannis Kardoulias, Ben Moore, Dominic Hamilton, Daniel Green and Lewis Parker.

YEARS SIX/SEVEN BOYS - Aiden Kealy, Lucas Foster, Luke Plunkett, Sam Trappe, Luke Honour, Daniel King, Callum Davidson, Bobby Hersey, Sam Oxlade, Steven Mordaunt and Paul Lally.

YEARS ONE/TWO GIRLS – Isabella Moore, Mariana Mathias, L’Taya Mills, Olivia Johnson and Elise Hodgson.

YEARS THREE/FOUR/FIVE GIRLS – Bo Price, Grace Rooney, Paige Leather, Arianna Casson, Macey Taylor, Neve Thornton, Katelyn Vos, Megan Hulse, Ellie Todino and Imogen Hodgson.

YEARS SIX/SEVEN GIRLS – Jess Lynch, Brooke Denison, Hannah Allmark, Lily Hall, Rosie Johnson, Erin Denison and Jasmin Stevens.

YEARS EIGHT/NINE – Molly Graham, Lily Hamilton, Rebecca Cain, Erin Smith, Jess Mordaunt, Simone Jones, Josie McIver and Lucy Robins.

INTER CLUB KICK OFF AND COACHING TIMES

Saturday September 17th at Deansgate Lane.

New members welcome in all age groups.

9am - Reception coaching followed by matches at 9.30am.

9am – Year 1 Boys matches followed by coaching at 9.30am.

9am – Years Two/Three Boys’ Division.

9am - Year Four Boys coaching.

9.15am - Year Five Boys coaching.

10am - Years Four/Five Boys’ Division matches.

10am – Years Six/Seven Boys’ Division matches.

10.15am – Girls’ Coaching – all age groups. Matches follow.

11am – Years One/Two Girls’ matches.

11am – Years Three/Four/Five Girls’ Division.

11am – Years Six/Seven/Eight Girls’ Division.

INTER CLUB – ASSEMBLING/DISMANTLING GOALS

Parents of boys in the Years Two/Three section are asked to please help with putting up goals at 8.50am in order for the boys to be able to kick off promptly at 9am.

Parents of girls are asked to please assist with taking down the goals at the end of matches at 12 noon.

FJSC CLUB NEWS

FJSC’s membership for the new season has now reached four hundred and one children.

EVERTON COACHING

There are now over ninety FJSC members taking part in the two Everton coaching sessions. The coaching is from 5- 7pm this evening and also on Thursday September 22nd at the same time.
