Formby Swimming Club recognised and rewarded

Excellent coaching at Formby Swimming Club has been recognised and rewarded at the recent Sefton Sports Awards.

Head coach Paul Cumberbatch was highly commended in the Coach of the Year category and junior coaches, Emma and Rebecca Clark were winners of the Young Volunteer of the Year award.

On Sunday 17July the Club hosted its annual 'House Gala', this was a chance for the younger members of the club to experience a competition gala and great fun was had by all.

It was also an opportunity to officially thank and acknowledge Louise Birtles who has coached at the club for the last 4 years and is leaving for pastures new. She has been an integral part of the club and we wish to thank her, wish her good luck and remind her there is always a place at the club should ever wish to return.

Last week the Club was also crowned division 2 runners up in the Merseyside and District Junior League, meaning the club is fast becoming a real competitor to bigger clubs operating in the North West, a fantastic achievement for a club so young.
