National Trust Formby has shared their delight after the Victoria Road Conservation Project was featured on BBC North West Tonight last week – shining a spotlight on one of Formby’s most important environmental restoration schemes.
The project focuses on a stunning stretch of coastline along Victoria Road, where tens of thousands of tonnes of historic rubble have now been removed, allowing the land to naturally recover and return to how it was originally intended.
This major conservation effort is helping to restore fragile dune systems, improve natural habitats and protect Formby’s unique coastal landscape for future generations.

National Trust Formby said they were thrilled to see the project recognised on regional television and thanked the BBC team for their visit and warm reception.
It’s another proud moment for Formby, highlighting the ongoing work being done to protect and preserve our much-loved coastline.
The National Trust nature reserve will re-open next Spring
