Motorists are advised that temporary three way traffic lights will remain in place on Liverpool Road, Formby, until Wednesday 5 August while major highway works continue outside 109 to 111 Liverpool Road.
The works, which began on 21 July, involve the construction of a new vehicular access as part of a Section 278 highway scheme. This includes excavation of the carriageway and footway, installation of new surface water drainage, connection to the existing United Utilities sewer, reinstatement works, and the construction of a new footpath and kerb at the site entrance.

A footway closure is also in place throughout the works, with an alternative pedestrian route being provided.
According to the roadworks permit, the temporary traffic management is expected to remain in place until 11.59pm on 5 August. While the works are currently listed as delays unlikely, motorists are advised to allow a little extra time for their journeys as queues may build up at busier times.

The works are being carried out under permits granted by Sefton Council, with completion currently scheduled for 5 August, although this may change depending on progress.
