WEATHER ALERT: Thick fog blankets Formby tonight as motorists face dangerously poor visibility

Formby has been covered in thick fog this evening, Saturday 7th November, with visibility significantly reduced on roads throughout the village, including Formby Bypass and the village centre.

❄️ We’ve also noticed ice already forming on some car windscreens, so please take extra care if you’re heading out tonight or early tomorrow morning.
The Met Office is forecasting further mist and fog overnight, with some patches potentially lingering into Remembrance Sunday morning.
Please drive carefully, reduce your speed, leave extra distance between vehicles and use fog lights when visibility falls below 100 metres.
With Remembrance Sunday services taking place tomorrow, please allow extra time for your journey, particularly if you’re travelling early.
These photographs were taken around Formby this evening and show just how foggy conditions have become.

Is it as foggy where you are? Let us know what conditions are like in your part of Formby, Freshfield or Hightown.
Stay safe, everyone. ❤️
