TRAVEL UPDATE | Queens Road / Ravenmeols Level Crossing Closure Extended

Motorists in Formby are advised that Queens Road, including the Ravenmeols Level Crossing, will remain closed until midnight on Monday 9 September.
The closure has already been in place for over a week and is due to a gas safety issue being dealt with by Cadent, who are carrying out emergency works to make the area safe.
While these essential repairs are underway, traffic is being diverted via Formby Bridge. However, with the school term now back in full swing, this diversion is causing significant congestion during peak travel times. Long queues are being reported at morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up periods.

We strongly advise road users to:
✅ Plan ahead and leave earlier where possible
✅ Allow extra time for your journeys
✅ Consider alternative routes if available
Emergency access will remain in place throughout the closure.
We understand how disruptive this is for residents, but these works are essential to ensure gas safety in the area. Formby Bubble will keep you updated on any further changes.
