Temporary Road Closure on Raven Meols Lane – October 13th to 17th

Motorists in Formby are being advised of an upcoming temporary road closure on Raven Meols Lane later this month as part of essential utility repair and maintenance works.

Location: Raven Meols Lane, Formby (between Meols Close and Kings Road)

Dates: Monday 13th October to Friday 17th October 2025

Traffic Management: Full road closure in place

The closure is required to allow SP Energy Networks to carry out supply unlooping works safely. The works will be conducted under a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order made by Sefton Council under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

It’s important to note that this closure does not affect the level crossing – only the section of Raven Meols Lane between Meols Close and Kings Road will be closed to traffic during this period.

A signed diversion route will be in place for all traffic via:

👉 Raven Meols Lane, Queens Road, Ward Avenue, Kirklake Road, Formby Bridge, Duke Street, Kings Road – and vice versa.

Access will be maintained for emergency services and, where possible, for residents.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys as delays are likely while these essential works take place.

The closure is expected to remain in place until 17th October 2025, but the road will reopen sooner if the works are completed ahead of schedule.
