FORMBY – A wave of visitors descended on Formby today as the sunshine brought crowds to the coast — but also brought with it traffic congestion and parking mayhem across the Shoreside area.

With the entrance to the Red Squirrel Reserve on Victoria Road closed, the only public access to the beach was via Lifeboat Road, which by midday was once again full and closed to further visitors. With no other options, cars flooded into surrounding residential streets, filling every available space and causing major disruption for local residents.

By 3:30pm, vehicles were still arriving, and Formby Bubble was inundated with messages and emails from frustrated residents describing the sheer volume of traffic and inconsiderate parking.
Merseyside Police confirmed they had been patrolling the Formby area throughout the day and had issued over 100 reports for obstruction offences. They shared a strong reminder to all visitors:
“Remember to park responsibly and legally.”
We’ve captured footage showing just how overwhelming the situation has become during hot weather weekends. Watch our video below to see the scale of the issue firsthand.
As always, we urge anyone planning a visit to Formby to check parking availability in advance and be mindful of local residents and restrictions.

I couldn’t manage school and life. Paying someone to take my online class helped me survive the semester without burning out.
Ministry Church is one of the most committed church ministries that our senior pastor started in January 1975 after having a profoundly transformative experience with the Lord. In addition to serving as an evangelist for more than 45 years, he spent 30 years of his life serving in the United States Marine Corps before retiring. Driven by his enthusiasm for evangelization, he founded The Midnight Cry evangelistic ministry in 1977.
