Sixty Kitchen to Close Its Doors Today on Chapel Lane

Sixty Kitchen has confirmed that today will be its final day of service, bringing to a close the journey of one of Formby’s much loved independent restaurants.

The Chinese and Asian fusion restaurant opened in 2023 and quickly built a strong local following for its modern menu, welcoming atmosphere and high standards. Earlier this year, Sixty Kitchen was named one of the winners in the 2025 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best, a major achievement recognising consistently excellent customer reviews.

In a message shared with customers, the owners explained that despite trying every possible option, they were unable to make the finances work or secure the funding needed to continue.

They said they were genuinely heartbroken to be closing and expressed deep gratitude to everyone who supported the business, adding that Sixty Kitchen had meant a great deal to them. While this chapter is ending, they also shared hope that the restaurant may return in the future.

For anyone hoping to visit one last time, the team confirmed that tonight will be the final service.

The closure of Sixty Kitchen highlights the ongoing pressures facing independent hospitality businesses, even those that are popular and award recognised. The Formby community will no doubt be sad to see it go and thankful for the memories it leaves behind.
