RTC in Formby, Church Road closed by police

A road traffic collision has taken place this afternoon, Thursday 5th February, on Church Road in Formby, close to the shops.

The incident involved three vehicles, a Citroën, a Fiat and a Kia. Emergency services responded quickly, with three police cars, three ambulances and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attending the scene.

Police have closed Church Road from the School Lane junction through to Whitehouse Lane while the incident is dealt with. The collision occurred at approximately 4.40pm and the road remained closed at 5.45pm. Police at the scene advised that the closure was expected to continue for around a further 15 minutes to half an hour to allow the vehicles to be safely removed.
At this stage, there is no confirmed information on whether anyone has been injured.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible and use alternative routes while the road remains closed.
