Reports of Multi-Car Collision on Formby Bypass (A565)

We’ve received reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the Formby Bypass (A565), just before the roundabout turning left into Liverpool Road, near the new housing development.

Emergency services, including fire crews, are currently at the scene.

Traffic is able to pass through in one lane, but delays are significant, with queues reported heading towards Formby and backing up as far as the woods.

The information was provided by a motorist travelling from Formby towards Crosby, who witnessed the congestion firsthand.

Drivers are advised to proceed with caution and expect delays while the incident is being dealt with.

Orrel Hill Lane, North End Lane and Lady Green Lane as well as the Formby bypass are very heavily congested and there is no clear route through at the moment.
