Police have cordoned off the Ravenmeols Level Crossing due to a bus hitting the barriers

Merseyside Police have cordoned off the Ravenmeols Level Crossing. It is completely blocked off in both directions.

An eyewitness told the Bubble that a bus had come through the barrier completely taking it out and then hitting the second barrier breaking it.

One barrier is lay on the ground and the other is stuck in the air but police have it cordoned off with police tape.

As soon as we have any more information we will let you know. The police will remain on scene until Merseyrail take over.

UPDATE at 1:36pm

A spokeswoman from Merseyrail said: “I think it will be a few hours until the repairs are completed. MOM are on site and working on getting the barriers fixed.”
