Residents across Formby and Hightown have raised growing concerns about anti social behaviour and the illegal use of electric bikes in the area.
In response, officers carried out a targeted operation on Thursday 19 March, bringing together neighbourhood policing teams, roads policing officers and the force drone unit to tackle the issue head on.
During the operation, one male was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance. The electric bike involved was seized at the scene.
Officers also attended Formby train station, where a group of youths were reported to be acting in an anti social manner and being abusive towards members of the public. Police engaged with those involved as part of ongoing efforts to address the behaviour.
Police have reassured the community that these incidents are being taken seriously and that work will continue to keep Formby, Hightown and surrounding areas safe for everyone.

Residents are encouraged to report any information about illegal electric bikes, including where they may be stored, by calling 101 or reporting online via Merseyside Police.
