Police Sirens Heard Across Formby as Emergency Incident Unfolds

Emergency services were called to Formby Beach this morning after concerns were raised for the safety of a man who had entered the water.
At approximately 10am, police sirens could be heard across parts of Formby as four police vehicles responded on blue lights to the Lifeboat Road area, prompting numerous enquiries from local residents.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm that emergency services were at Formby Beach this morning, Thursday 18 June.”
“Just before 9.40am, officers and emergency services received a report of concern for the safety of a man on Formby Beach who had gone into the water.”
“The man has been safely removed from the area at Lifeboat Road and has been taken for an assessment by officers.”
Police remained at the scene for a short time before leaving. No further information has been released.
