A brand new Irish sports bar is opening in Formby next week as Shamrocks prepares to welcome customers from Tuesday 10 March.
The new venue is located in the former Lux 37 building, which many locals will remember from its previous days as a late night bar in the village. The premises has now been transformed into an Irish themed sports bar designed to bring live sport, entertainment and a lively atmosphere to the heart of Formby.
The team held a small soft opening this week for a special birthday celebration, giving guests an early look at what the new venue has to offer.
From Tuesday morning Shamrocks will officially open to the public, perfectly timed for the start of Cheltenham Festival week, with the team also promising a St Patrick’s Day celebration to remember.

Shamrocks is being launched as a place where people can come together to enjoy live sport, socialise with friends and soak up the atmosphere of a traditional Irish sports bar.
Inside the venue visitors will find plenty of entertainment including:
• Photobooth
• Two interactive darts boards
• Brand new pool table
• Arcade games
• Air hockey
• Table football
• Fruit machines
• A huge number of TVs showing live sport
• Brand new audio and lighting system
• Newly refurbished toilets
The owners say they want to create more than just a bar, but a lively venue where people can meet up, make new friends and enjoy everything on offer.
With Cheltenham around the corner and St Patrick’s Day celebrations approaching, Shamrocks is hoping to become a popular new addition to Formby’s nightlife and sports scene.
Residents can follow updates from the venue on their Facebook page Shamrocks Bar Formby. ☘️
