Work is currently underway in Duke Street Park to construct a new hardcore asphalt pathway that will improve access and connectivity throughout the park.
The new path is being built to link with the two existing pathways and will connect through to Phillips Lane. Once completed, it will allow people to walk around the entire park more easily and comfortably.
The improved surface will be particularly beneficial for families with prams, wheelchair users, and those with mobility needs. It will also support runners and people using bikes, making the park more accessible for a wide range of users.
It has been confirmed by Formby Trees & Community Matters Facebook page, that no trees have been removed as part of the works, ensuring the park’s natural environment is preserved while access is improved for the community.

This improvement is expected to enhance the overall usability of Duke Street Park and help ensure it remains an inclusive and welcoming green space for everyone.
