Children’s Fitness by Abigail Cowie -
Everyone’s fitness is very important, especially now. How do young people stay occupied, safe and keep healthy mentally/physically during lockdown and post-lockdown?
I went to Formby fitness (Green Lane) and took part in the gym activities they we’re doing. The trainer, Lisa, who runs these sessions at 5 and 6PM for ages 4-14, has 22 years of experience in health and fitness. The first session I attended involved: warm ups, mixed boxing and a variety of different exercises. It was good fun and I made some new mates.
Lisa said she enjoys her classes and gets her satisfaction from seeing the children succeed and even just making friends. This class isn’t only for health and exercise; It’s also for socialising and getting out of the house.
It costs £5 per session, which in my opinion is a good value for money. I found the session useful and a lot of fun. Although it was tiring, I felt good afterwards and I’m looking forward to goI get back next week.
