Michelin Trained Chef to Open New Healthy Meal Prep Shop in Formby

A new food business promising restaurant quality healthy meals is set to open in Formby this month, bringing a fresh option for fitness enthusiasts, busy professionals and anyone looking for nutritious food without compromising on flavour.

TruePlate Meal Prep has announced it is opening a new customer facing shop in Formby, alongside a commercial kitchen where its high protein meals will be freshly prepared.

The business is led by Michelin trained chef Jake, who previously worked in high end restaurant kitchens before launching TruePlate with the aim of making healthy eating more enjoyable and accessible.

He is joined by Fran, who holds a BSc in Nutrition and Health from Edge Hill University and works alongside the chef to ensure every meal is backed by evidence based nutritional knowledge.

TruePlate has already built a growing following across Liverpool through its weekly meal prep service, with customers praising its restaurant quality cooking and focus on real ingredients.

The company says every meal is prepared using butcher sourced meat, contains around 40 to 50 grams of protein, balanced carbohydrates and healthy fats, while avoiding seed oils. Vegetarian options are also available, and meals are designed to support busy lifestyles, fitness goals and everyday wellbeing.

Among the dishes already featured on the menu are Spanish Chicken and Patatas Bravas, made with organic free range chicken, house made sauces and fresh ingredients, reflecting the team’s fine dining background.

In announcing the move, the business described its philosophy as:
