🚧 Huge Road Excavation Continues to Cause Major Disruption at Formby Crossroads

Many residents have been asking how much longer the roadworks at the crossroads of Gores Lane, Old Town Lane and Piercefield Road are expected to continue.

The junction has now been closed for well over a week, with a huge excavation in the middle of the crossroads revealing what appears to be a substantial void beneath the road surface. While it resembles a large sinkhole, the exact cause has not been confirmed.

The scale of the excavation has surprised many residents, with the road remaining completely closed while United Utilities carries out repair works.

According to the latest information available on one.network, the works are scheduled to continue until 11.59pm on Wednesday 30 July, although this could change if the repairs take longer than expected.
