Frank's report from Formby Junior Football Club

After being crowned the Hightown Junior Championship Under 11 League winners at the weekend, Formby Junior Sports Club Under 11’s Saturday team completed their league fixtures on Tuesday evening.

It was fitting that the last game should be against second in the division Northfield Dortmund. It was a brilliant match. With only a few minutes remaining the score was 3-3.

A Freddie Garvey header had given FJSC the lead. Northfield soon equalised before Charlie Garvey had given the Blacks the lead at half time. Once again Northfield drew level after the interval. A thirty yard lobbed shot from Harrison McGrath saw FJSC take the lead for the third time but again plucky Northfield scored.

The excitement grew and in a fantastic last few minutes Callum Gray scored a fourth goal for FJSC. Northfield on this occasion could not respond and Berat Ulusoy scored two late goals to see FJSC home in true Champion winning style with an undefeated record.

Congratulations to all members of this wonderful squad and well done to the management team of Gary Garvey and Paul Evans who have managed and coached the boys so well throughout the season.
