Frank Rourke's Report from Formby Junior Sports Club
It was the penultimate weekend of the Formby Junior Sports Club season. The Inter Club Section welcomed a number of new boys to the club and it was another extremely enjoyable morning’s football at Deansgate Lane. Nearly all the Representative teams have now completed their season so for some teams it was the ideal opportunity to start to plan ahead for next season.
REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES
FJSC Under 16 White completed their Craven Minor League season with a very good 3-2 away win at second in the division Burscough Dynamo. The Under 16’s have finished in fifth place in Premier League which is very commendable.
In the Hightown League FJSC Under 12’s played Northern Yellow in midweek. Charlie Garvey gave the Under 12’s the lead in the first half. Northern equalised early in the second half. Man of the match Henry Jones restored the lead for FJSC with a twenty yard shot and Dominic Maxwell made it 3-1 with a scrambled goal.
INTER CLUB SECTION
The Year 6/7 group continues to grow in numbers. This made it possible for a mini five aside friendly round robin competition to take place. After three games played the Reds and Greens were tied in first place with six points each. In third position were the Blue team with the Yellows in fourth place. In a penalty shoot-out the Greens won 2 nil to become Champions. The tournament was enjoyed by all and was well organised by the team of dads. Amongst the scorers were Henry Renton, Aaron Pickard, Ethan Richmond and Josh Kearney.
There were also some very exciting matches played in the other age groups as well with the following boys scoring goals - Harry Hughes, Tom Murphy, Rory Rankine, Zac McHugh, Isaac Jones, Jacob Davies, Noah Bate, Harry Ball, Max Brown, Ralph Renton and Sylvan O’ Hara.
There is now just one Inter Club session remaining this season so it is hoped that there will be a very good turn-out next Saturday morning.

INTER CLUB NEWS FOR PRE SCHOOL CHILDREN
Saturday, 7th May children who are pre-school age (four years of age) are invited to attend at 10.45 to 11.45am for coaching and a fun game of football. This taster sessions is free of charge.
