Formby’s Sixty Kitchen Wins Prestigious Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Award 2025

We’re thrilled to share some incredible news from right here in Formby — Sixty Kitchen, the much-loved independent Chinese and Asian fusion restaurant on Chapel Lane, has been named one of the winners in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best 2025.

This prestigious recognition places Sixty Kitchen among the top 1% of restaurants worldwide, celebrating the very best based entirely on real reviews and ratings from diners across the globe.

Each year, Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards honour travellers’ favourite destinations, hotels, restaurants, and experiences, based on a full 12 months of authentic feedback. The Best of the Best is their highest accolade — a mark of consistent quality, passion, and hospitality excellence.

Owner Jonathan Foster Green shared his gratitude with a touch of trademark humour:

First, I want to thank God, my parents, and of course my agent – who still doesn’t quite know why he represents a chip shop chef, but here we are.

Since I was a boy – despite the good looks and sporting talent – all I ever wanted was recognition for my chicken and sweetcorn soup.

And today, that dream’s come true.

As an independent chip shop, to stand alongside the industry giants is just incredible. We don’t have the same marketing budgets – just woks, fresh ingredients, and the love of our community.

We know we’ll never win the takeaway awards sponsored by Uber, Just Eat, or Deliveroo.

But this one is different. This one is from our customers, and that really does mean the world.
