FJSC U13 Black entered their friendly fixturewith Ormskirk FC already assured of a place in the Saturday Winter Premier League. The match was a valuable opportunity for the boysto regain sharpness following the half-term break.
The team made a bright start on a muddy pitch that worsened as the game progressed. Crisp passing sequences led to an earlybreakthrough from Isaac Jones, followed by a determined finish from Charlie Richardson in a goalmouth scramble to make it 2 nil.Ormskirk responded with a well-crafted goal, but Isaac Jones restored the two-goal cushion before half time.
The second half brought unpredictable conditions—horizontal rain, gusting wind, and bursts of sunshine—all contributing to a chaotic period of play. Ormskirk capitalised, scoring three times to take a 4–3 lead. Isaac Jones then completed his hat-trick with a superb strike using the outside of his foot to level the score at 4–4. Ormskirk surged again, netting twice to go 6–4 ahead. Josh Burr narrowed the deficit with a composed finish, but despite late pressure, FJSC ran out of time in their search for an equaliser. It was acompetitive and high-scoring match that offered valuable lessons ahead of the league campaign.
FJSC U13 Black went into their SundayPremier Division match sitting top of the league table and were eager to strengthen their position with another strong performance. From the outset, FJSC established control through composed passing and intelligent movement, creating several early chances. FJSC clawed one goal back after Campbell Woodcock won the ball in midfield laying it off to Mason Todd who put in a perfect cross for Izakk Hill to score.
The second half saw the Reds battling but not really keeping possession and from a counter attack Southport scored again to lead 3-1. A penalty claim by the Reds was waved away by the referee minutes later and Southport held on for the win. There were solid performances from Joss Lowen and Haden Radcliffe with tough tackling and constant pressure but theMan of the Match award went to Isaac Pepper who drove the team forward with determinedtackling and attacking play.

The Blacksstarted the game very strongly, quickly scoring four goals during the opening quarter of the match with the goals coming from Noah Underwood, Ashley Jones and Jack Hansen, who also added a fifth shortly after half time.
Despite some excellent shot stopping byFJSC’s goalkeeper Max Byford and good defending, Burscough did score before Formby went up a gear to eventually seal the game with further goals from Alex Rowley, and Ashley Jones who scored a hat trick.
It was another fantastic performance from the lads who go from strength to strength, and kept up their 100% record this season. FJSC Under 10 Blacks Report - A mild, sunny autumn derby delivered a full-throttle cup tie. From the first whistle it was end-to-end: both sides carved out chances, but a blend of brave defending, sharp goalkeeping and wayward finishing kept the scoreline in check early on. Whites struck first, only for Blacks to hit back within five minutes. A penalty then swung momentum—Whites converted—before adding a third to open daylight.
Blacks refused to fold, winning key duels and finishing a well-worked move to stay in the contest. The tension built with more rapid breaks and last-ditch blocks as both teams chased the next goal. In the final stages, tired legs told; Whites found extra composure and sealed it with three late finishes.
A game that could have gone either way: exciting, nervy, and packed with emotion. Whites were clinical when it mattered and deserved the win; Blacks can be proud—on another day, the result might have flipped. The FJSC Blacks scorers with one goal each were Daniel MacArthur and Theo Richards.

With superb dribbling and forward drives ShayanPalin was rewarded with two well taken goals. Southport Community pullled one more back and just before the final whistle Toby Woodcock broke away and bagged a goal with a composed finish to end a great morning for the Under 7’s Whites.
INTER CLUB SECTION
Last Saturday the Reception age group and the Year Ones had their first taste of three aside football which will be introduced by the Football Association next season for the Under 7’s. The idea is for more touches of the ball and everyone to be involved all the time. To quote the FA it will be fun , fast, forward thinking where every child plays. There will be more physical activity and more play on the pitch for young players.
After just half an hour there was no doubt whatsoever that this new initiative is going to be a great success and during the season at Inter Club this will be developed with coaching to be tailor made to improve the necessary skills for this new format. In addition of course we will still have our Inter Club Friendly matches.
The Year 7/8 match between the Yellows and Reds was a great advert of Inter Club football at its best. It was end to end action with twelve goals. The Yellows eventually won 8-4.
