Formby Junior Sports Club- New season starts this Saturday at Deansgate Lane - U7’s and U13’s needed

Formby Junior Sports Club’s 64th football season starts on Saturday 3rd September at Deansgate Lane Playing Fields when the Inter Club Section once again opens its doors to all children from four years of age up to and including Year 8’s wishing to join.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Parents can download a Formby Junior Sports Club membership form for 2022-2023 from the club website formbyjuniorsportsclub.co.ukwhich can be found in the club document section or can contact Club Chairman Frank Rourke who will send you a form to complete and return and provide any necessary additional information. Alternatively parents can bring their children along on the day.

For new members, if parents wish a two session ‘try and see if their child enjoys it time‘ before paying the annual club membership,this is quite in order. All we need initially is for the membership form to be completed.

Inter Club football is open to all as soon as a child becomes four years of age. They do not have to be in Reception yet.

Just because FJSC does not, at present, have a Girls’ Section it does not mean that girls cannot play football at the club. Girls wishing to play football with the boys are very welcome to do so. In fact a number of the victorious Lionesses started off their football playing with the boys.

INTER CLUB INFORMATION

Every Inter Club member will have, at least, a one hour Saturday morning session with coaching (£2 each week) and a fun match.

START DATE – Saturday 3rd September at Deansgate Lane Playing Fields.

TIMES

Years 5/6. 9.30 am - 10.45 am

Years 7/8. 9.45 am - 11.00 am

Four year olds 10.45 am - 11.45am

Years 1/2. 10.45 am -11.45 am

Years 3/4 . 11.15 am - 12.15pm

Goalkeeper Coaching is from 9.00am -9.30am. Any budding young goalkeeper is welcome to come along and join in.

REPRESENTATIVE TEAM FOOTBALL

Most of the Representative Teams will be playing their matches on Sundays. There will be teams at every age group from Under 6 up to and including Under 13’s. Fixtures willstart on Sunday 11th September. Each of the Representative teams will be arrangingtraining sessions in preparation for the much awaited first match.

PLAYERS WANTED

FJSC Under 7’s need 2 or 3 more players fortheir Sunday morning team.

Also FJSC Under 13’s is looking to extend their Sunday squad with 2 or 3 new players.
