Formby Junior Sports Club football will be starting again on Saturday 3rd April when the Inter Club Section will be back in action at Deansgate Lane Playing Fields.
The football season has been extended until the end of June. The extra thirteen Saturdays will go a long way to make up for the many enforced weeks lost due to Covid. A big thank you to Green Sefton and the FA for making this possible.
All FJSC’s Representative teams playing in the Craven Minor League will be starting new fixtures from the weekend of 10th and 11th April in the format of Round Robin competitions for the older teams and friendly fixtures for the mini soccer age groups. Fixtures will soon be arranged for the weekends up to the end of June and may also include some midweek matches for some age groups. Midweek training will also be arranged for teams and will be able to commence from 29th March. Team managers will inform their squads of arrangements made.
Everyone is very excited about this latest news for the return of grassroots football. FJSC is doing its best to offer as much football as possible for all its members and there are many new plans for the next three months.
A MESSAGE TO CHILDREN AGED FOUR UP TO YEAR SIX INTERESTED IN FOOTBALL WHO ARE NOT IN A CLUB
It is an ideal time for children interested in playing football to come along and give it a try. It does not matter if you have never really played football before because we will help coach you the skills to get started and introduce you to a friendly Inter Club game of football and teach you the rules as well.
If you have played some football before you will be also able to enjoy the coaching and football matches as all our boys who play for our club teams (our Representative teams) play Inter Club football on Saturday mornings.
If you are a young footballer looking for a team for next season and you are not at present in a team of another club, Formby Junior Sports Club is looking ahead now to next season (2021/22) and are starting to form new teams in preparation.
NEW TEAMS FOR NEXT SEASON
• For Year One’s now, FJSC is looking to have two new Year Two (Under 7’s) next season.
• For present Year Two, we are aiming to have one new team at U8 to add to the two teams we already have.
• For present Year Three we will be having a new Year 4 (U9) team in addition to the team we have at the moment.
• If possible, the club would like to form a Year 4 team now so that the team could play in the Craven Minor League as a Year 5 team (U10) next season.
For those children who would like to come along for the first time FJSC will be holding Saturday free Taster sessions throughout April.

Year Five/Six from 9.45am until 11am.
Reception including four-year-olds at 10.30am until 11.30am.
Year One at 10.30am until 11.30am.
Year Three/Four at 10.30am until 11.30am.
Year Two at 11.15am until 12.15pm.
EVERY AGE GROUP WILL HAVE A FUN SESSION WITH COACHING AND A GAME.
ALL PREVIOUS COVID -19 RULES STILL APPLY.
NEW MEMBERS IN ALL INTER CLUB AGE GROUPS ARE VERY WELCOME.
GIRLS’ FOOTBALL
FJSC would like to start a new Girls’ football section. For girls in Year 3 and Year 4 who are not particularly interested in playing competitive football in a team this would be ideal. It would be a beginners group playing recreational football.

FJSC organised football for girls for twenty years very successfully and started in the same way. The club would like to do this again.
