Collectively ninety-two goals were scored by the Representative teams. There were wins for four of the club’s new teams to cap a very impressive weekend. Not to be out shone were the Inter Club matches on Saturday morning which again produced some spectacular goals, excellent defending, very good team play and some outstanding goalkeeping. Congratulations to all the boys for playing in such hot weather conditionsover the weekend.
REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES
FJSC Under 14’s Black drew 2-2 with Northfield Dortmund in the Hightown Junior League. FJSC took the lead just before half time when Alfie Holden scored. Northfield only had two shots on target but scored from both chances in a four minute spell to take a 2-1 lead. Within three minutes Isaac Loxham-Keenan equalised for FJSC with a brilliantly taken goal. Man of the match was Dylan Madeley who was a rock at the back.
FJSC Under 13 Blacks started their match on the front foot against Southport Hesketh Blue, passing the ball intricately through midfield, and after a period of early pressure found the breakthrough when Abe Rice collected a pass and while his shot was well saved, Ethan Richmond was on hand to follow up the rebound as he coolly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 1 nil. FJSC created further chances through Josh Kearney and Ethan Murphy, but then somewhat against the run of play, Hesketh scored as they broke down the left wing and equalised. FJSC pushed on again after a drink’s break and were rewarded when Ollie Dean won the ball back in midfield, found Charlie Knowles on the right, and he swung in an inch perfect cross to the back post, where Ethan Richmond was on hand again to score, giving FJSC a deserved 2-1 lead at half time. Despite the heat, the Blacks kept their energy levels high going into the second half and Josh Kearney led by example as he closed down and won the ball from a Hesketh defender, before finding Ethan Richmond in the box, and he scored to make it 3-1, completing his hat trick in the process. Southport Heskethwere awarded a penalty midway through the half and scored to make it 3-2. It was anervous final few minutes for FJSC but the defence held strong with good performances from Riley Higgs, Charlie Knowles, Ethan Tucker, Evan Hughes and Sam Uttley, as FJSC earned a well-deserved win. The Player of the Match was awarded to Ethan Richmond following his match winning hat trick.
It was a tough start to FJSC Under 12 WhitesPremier League campaign against a strongSouthport Athletic Black team. It was an even start with William Madutlela making his league debut and really taking hold of the midfield. He played a lovely ball through to Ben Harris who finished really well to make it 1 nil to FJSC at the water break mid-way through the first half. Although the second period remained even with chances at both ends, Southport Athletic took theirs and made it 3-1 at half time. The boys played with great spirit throughout and although the defence was generally solid, Harry Ball was called upon frequently in goal and used both his hands and feet very well. As both teams tired, there were more chances at each end. Ultimately too many goal scoring opportunities were missedfrom open play and set pieces, whilst Southport Athletic continued to find the net and ran out 8- 1 winners in a match that felt much closer.
FJSC Under 11 Whites kicked off their season with a match against Greenloons. Greenloonsstarted the better team and by half time held a comfortable lead. FJSC produced a much improved performance in the second half and came within a goal of their opponents. A late Greenloons goal sealed the victory but the boys should be proud of their performance. Man of the match Archie Weir scored twice and Isaac Jones was also on the scoresheet.
FJSC Under 11 Black started their season at home against Southport Athletic JFC Under 11 Black. All the hard work over the summer paid off with a lightning start to go three goals up in seven minutes. Some great overlapping play on the right wing between Charlie Burton and Caden Walker caused real trouble with Ben Webster and Ellis Coyne putting a real shift in the centre of the park. Louis O’Connor showed how dangerous his corners can be.From one such cross Ellis Coyne scored with a bullet header. Finley Scott then wrapped up the first half with a goal direct from a corner.
The Under 11 Blacks kept up the pace in the second half with Louis O’Connor and Luke Millington stretching the play. Charlie Richardson started his season with a hat-trick. Ellis Coyne continued his fine form from the first half by rounding off his scoring with a well taken shot to end up with four goals for his first game. Oscar Phillips had a quiet game in goal thanks to a solid defence performance from Leo Fagan, Charlie Burton, Alex Barr and Finley Scott. It was a very good all round team display.
FJSC Under 10 Black played a very good Crosby Stuart team. Finn McDerby and Harley Evans battling hard to get the ball forward to Rory Rankine and GeorgeCroughan who were unfortunate not to takethe chances created for them. Albie Graham,Huey Stevenson and Ryan Lamb worked hard in midfield and FJSC pressed Crosby Stuartseveral times throughout the half. Crosby scored a well worked goal from close range, then scored with a screamer from outside the box and added a third goal before half time.
Crosby Stuart pushed into fifth gear in the second half and scored several more goals. Jacob Holton came on up front and worked hard and Oliver Hall-Gleeson was moved intomidfield and battled to win possession. Goalkeeper Henry Moors made many fine saves and was joint Man of the Match with Harley Evans. It was nice to see Max Fairhurst come along to cheer on his team even though it was his turn to be rested this week.
FJSC Under 10 Reds played host to Crosby Stuart Youth. Crosby Stuart started strongly with the Reds defending well as a team but the pressure from Crosby Stuart paid off and they opened the scoring to take a lead into half time.
The second half took a similar pattern with strong pressure from Crosby Stuart but a strong battling performance from FJSC Reds saw two goals from Tommy Collins who coolly slotted home a penalty after a handball and also completed a composed finished after a fine through ball from Tom Murphy. Despite these two goals Crosby Stuart took the spoils.
Brett McKeown was Man of the Match on his debut appearance for the FJSC Reds with a fine goalkeeping performance. The Reds gave a really good account of themselves which is positive ahead of an exciting season.
FJSC Under 9 Whites were in action against Redgate Rovers Black. It was a very impressive team display with goals from Henry Williamson, Seb Hodgson, Walter Ramsdale, Theo White, Isaac Higgins, Isaac Ade and James Smith. It was hard to pick a man of the match but for his all-action display James Smith picked up the award.
FJSC Under 9 Black started their campaign with a home match against Crosby Stuart Youth. There were some new players making their debuts, plus a new coaching team. The Blacks started very well and you could see a summer of continued training had paid off from the boys’ confidence in passing and playing well as a team. There were six different scorers – Oliver Stinson, Idris Jones, Ashley Jones, Noah Underwood, Joseph Kerrigan and man of the match Jackson Ebowho scored a hat trick. The boys put in an outstanding performance and were looking sharp in their new kits sponsored by Golf Tours International.
FJSC Under 9 Red played Lower Breck FC in their first ever competitive match. The two teams were evenly matched with Luke Madutlela making some crucial saves to keep FJSC in the game. Lower Breck opened the scoring with an early goal, but Rafi Omar made a great run from midfield to score the equaliser. Lower Breck once again took the lead just before half time.
In the second half both teams had scoring opportunities. Man of the match Josh Robinson made a great run from defence to level the score. Unfortunately, the heat took its toll and Lower Breck managed to score three goals in the last three minutes to edge the match. The final scoreline did not reflect a very good team effort from FJSC Reds. The team performance was superb . Josh Robinson earned the Man of the Match award for his great goal, great goal line stop and overall performance
FJSC Under 8 Whites played the newly formed FJSC Under 8 Blacks.
The game started off with both teams being very wary of each other. A little bit of trickery from Charlie Ormesher gave him the chanceto open the scoring which he did. Shortly after the Blacks had an excellent passage of play allowing Alfie Alston to slip the ball into the net for the equaliser.
As the match went on the Whites combined very well on a number of occasions and leapt into the lead with goals from Harry Hughes, Charles Fazakerley, Oliver Parrish, Charlie Ormesher and Joshua Gillespie scoring withan amazing free kick from just inside the Blacks half. The Blacks had their chances and in the second half hit the post six times. Man of the match for the Whites was jointly shared by Charlie Ormesher and goalkeeper Charles Fazakerley. Otto Johnson for an outstanding display in defence was the Man of the Match for the Blacks.
It was a great match. The Whites continue their fine form from last season and the Blacks in only their first league match together showed much promise.
FJSC Under 7 Whites were also playing their first ever Craven Minor League match. The boys played brilliantly against Southport FC Yellows . Scoring for FJSC were Franklin Chignell, Luke Clarke, Archie Jones and Logan Haggart.
FJSC’s two youngest teams the Under 6 Whites and the Under 6 Blacks played their first matches in the Sefton Development League in Netherton and had great results.
FJSC Under 6 Whites played Clay Brow River. It was a wonderful and very even match with the two teams showing great skill. There were some great tackles and exciting goalmouth scrambles. Theo Kelly, Noah Ignatowicz, and Leo Rogers scored the goals. Man of the match was Theo Kelly.
FJSC Under 6 Blacks met Clay Brow Boca. This was also a thrilling encounter. The scorers for FJSC were Thomas Mitchell, Oliver Jones, Tayo Popoola and Teddy Marron. Cole Jones also played very well. Man of the match was shared between Thomas Mitchell and Max Healey. See theteam photograph above of a very happy squad in their very smart new kit sponsored by TSF Finance.
