Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to the National Trust site at Lifeboat Road at around 7:30pm on Friday 22nd May following reports of a fire in the dunes.
Crews attended and carried out a thorough search of the area. However, after spending some time at the scene, no fire was found.

Fires are strictly prohibited on National Trust land, particularly during the summer months. This includes barbecues. These rules are in place to protect both the public and the fragile coastal wildlife.
To help keep everyone safe, fires and barbecues are not permitted anywhere along the Sefton Coast.
If you see a fire, please call 999 and ask for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service.
Please help spread the word. It only takes a single spark.
