End of an Era for Flowerstyle by Laurie — But a Beautiful New Chapter Begins

After more than three unforgettable decades as one of Formby’s most cherished independent shops, Flowerstyle by Laurie will be closing the doors of its Ryeground Lane store this Saturday 29th November.

It marks the end of an era for a florist that has filled our homes, our weddings, our celebrations, and even our most difficult days with colour, comfort, and extraordinary beauty.

But while the shop may be closing, Flowerstyle is not going anywhere. Laurie and his team will continue creating their exquisite floral designs from a new unit in Ormskirk, still delivering daily across Formby and the surrounding areas. The heart, the artistry, the craftsmanship — all remain exactly the same.

A Message from Laurie:

Yesterday, Laurie shared this message with the community:

“I am closing the shop on Saturday and going to work from a unit in Ormskirk, still creating beautiful flowers which you can order from our web shop or by phone.

We shall continue to do daily deliveries to Formby and the surrounding area, so we will still be here for you — whether you’re celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, cheering someone up, or saying the fondest farewell with our beautiful funeral flowers.

A Florist Fit for Royalty

Flowerstyle by Laurie was established in 1988, born out of Laurie’s passion for flowers and creativity. From its small beginnings, the shop blossomed into one of the region’s most respected florists — known for exceptional quality, elegant design, and the kind of artistic flair that can only come from true devotion to the craft.

Laurie’s talent reached far beyond Formby.

He had the honour of creating flowers for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and for other members of the Royal Family — a testament to the extraordinary skill, precision, and beauty of his work. Flowers fit for royalty, made right here in our village.

And yet, despite these prestigious moments, Laurie has always remained grounded in the heart of the community — creating bouquets for everyday customers with the same love and attention as those destined for Buckingham Palace.

This may be the end of an era, but it is also the beginning of a bright new chapter for Flowerstyle by Laurie.
