Formby Junior Sports Club - Franks report

Formby Junior Sports Club will start its 62nd football season on Saturday September 5th at Deansgate Lane Playing Fields when the Inter Club Section gets under way.

New members in all Primary School age groups are very welcome to come along. Covid-19 Safety Measures have been put into place including staggered start times to avoid congestion.

START TIMES FOR BOYS AND GIRLS

Reception 9.45 – 10.45, Year One 10.30-11.30, Year Two 11.15 -12.15, Year Three and Year Four from 11.10 to 12.10, Year Five and Year Six from 10.00 to 11.00.

All parents are asked to bring their children along ten minutes before their session is due to start. Each child is asked to have with them a water container and hand sanitiser clearly labelled with their name on them. The first session could be slow as the children and parents become acquainted with the new safety measure procedures. Parents are asked to carefully read the safety measures they will have received or if new the risk assessments can be read on the Formby Junior Sports Club website formbyjuniorsportsclub.co.uk in the club document section.

NEW PLANS

Reception and Year One children who are also keen to play for a FJSC Under 5 or Under 6 team on some Sundays during the season will also have the opportunity to do so. Therefore, not to miss this opportunity these young very keen footballers need to attend this Saturday if possible.

Another club initiative is to further develop the Year Four age group on Saturdays with the intention to form an Under 9 team this season, to play a few friendly matches with the intention of entering the Craven Minor League next season.

The final but very important aim is to re-establish the Girls’ Section of the club. All primary school age girls particularly girls who just want to play football for fun with no pressure to play for a team are invited to come along, try it and if they enjoy the experience can join FJSC properly later.

The ten FJSC Boys’ Representative teams playing in the Craven Minor League will not be starting their league matches for a few weeks yet. In preparation all the teams have commenced training and have planned some friendly matches during September. FJSC Under 11 Boys start their league games in the Hightown League this Saturday.

The photograph above the report shows the FJSC Under 8’s 2020-21 squad proudly wearing their new kit which is kindly sponsored by ICS Accounting.
