Warning of a dog attack in Formby woods

Formby Bubble has received a message warning people to be careful when taking their children for a walk in the Pinewoods after a serious dog attack. The concerned member of the public said: “On the morning of Christmas Eve, our daughter's partner went for a jog in the Pinewoods. While out jogging he was attacked by a very large dog who was not on a chain, he was bitten on the thigh. I dread to think what could have happened if this was a young child playing and running in the Pinewoods.” “My daughter's partner had to go to the drop in clinic in Litherland for treatment, where he was told the dog bite was very nasty.” “I have always had a dog and I am a dog lover, but we must always be aware what can happen and keep our dogs on a lead when necessary.” The dog in the picture is NOT the dog involved in the attack but one that is very similar to this one which looked like a Black Russian Terrier.
