Owner of the dog that attacked five people in Formby speaks out how heartbroken he is that people go

Owner of the dog that attacked five people in Formby yesterday speaks out to Formby Bubble about how heartbroken he is that people got hurt.

Theodoro Tirimou said: "We never intended anyone to get hurt, the dog was brought up around children I don’t know what happened yesterday. My mum was cleaning the cage and the dog was in the garden playing."

"The dog was never vicious towards anyone. He got walked every night for two hours. I’ve never mistreated my dogs and never would. Yesterday was a serious mistake that I wish I could have prevented, but I couldn't. I’m so sorry to those that got hurt, my heart is broken."

Theodoro went on to say: "Goodnight Simba, today has been devastating, I miss you already and I love you lots, my best friend, always in my heart, just can't believe what has happened."

Original story on Thursday 13th December 2018.

A 15-year-old girl and four adults have been injured in a major incident at 1:30pm this afternoon, Thursday 13th December on Liverpool Road in Formby concerning a dog attack.

Emergency services were called to Liverpool Road in Formby earlier today after reports that a dog had attacked and bitten five people.

A spokeswoman from Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm officers are currently attending to an incident in Formby this afternoon, Thursday, 13 December." "At around 1pm, a report was received that a dog had bitten five people in Liverpool Road. Emergency services attended the scene and five people including a 15-year-old girl and four adults are currently being treated for what are thought to be minor injuries." "The dog has since been secured."

A local resident told the Bubble that the dog had escaped from the garden.

The dog has now been put to sleep.

The dog was first thought to be a Japanese Atikia dog but we have since been told that it was in fact a Caucasian Shepherd dog.
