Local residents complain that their houses are shaking and the noise is a public nuisance
Local residents have filed complaints as to the noise and vibration issues that is happening with the 'Piling' on the Lenton Avenue development of 34 houses in Formby.
The land was sold in December 2017 and the development went through on outline planning permission. The land is to the north of Lenton Avenue and Vicarage Close. The site is bounded to the north by a public footpath, to the east by the Leonard Cheshire Home including a burial ground and to the south and west by detached residential properties.
Elan Homes have begun work on Lenton Avenue in Formby to build 34 homes on the 4.7 acre site just off Vicarage Road. The houses will be known as 'The Dunes'. The Dunes will consist of a range of executive 3 and 4 bedroomed family homes.
Local councillor Denise Dutton is dealing with complaints from local residents about the constant banging day after day. The company are using a piling technique which is causing vibrations, a lot of noise and in some cases, the houses are shaking.
Due to the company, Elan Homes using their own building Inspectors, it is very hard to enforce anything at all. Cllr Denise Dutton said: "This is a Public Nuisance and is not acceptable. Some of the residents homes are actually shaking. We are doing our best to get this resolved as quickly as possible."
