A Merseyside Police Dispersal Notice remains in place in Formby until tomorrow night
A Merseyside Police Dispersal Notice remains in place in Formby until tomorrow night A Dispersal Zone was put in place in Formby last night and will last until tomorrow night. Despite this, Merseyside Police still issued over 20 Dispersal notices on Mischief night. Merseyside Police said: “Over 20 Dispersal notices were issued last night across the three Dispersal Zones of FORMBY, Southport Town Centre and Ainsdale. This means the individuals have been banned from returning to the area they have been given a map of, for 48 hours from the time of issue. The exclusion therefore lasts until AFTER the time the Dispersal Zone is in use for, and until 48 hours have elapsed from the time the form is issued.” “Police Officers and PCSO's on duty today, Wednesday 31st October, are aware of the people who have been issued with the notices. Any breaches will lead to arrest.” A dispersal power under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 has been in place from 4:00PM Tuesday 30th October and will remain in place until 4:00PM Thursday 1st November, covering the area of FORMBY shown on the map. This step has been taken to help combat anti-social behaviour, reduce disorder and reduce risk of damage to property, following recent incidents in our Bubble. In Dispersal Zone areas, police officers or PCSO's have the power to: • Require anyone to leave the area and prevent them from returning for up to 48 hours. • Require a person to surrender items that can be used to cause anti-social behaviour. • Send/take under 16s home or to a place of safety. • Arrest anyone who ignores the instruction.
