Formby Civic Society - Civic Day

To support Civic Day 2018, there will be a display at the Formby market this Friday (the 15th) and then again at the Bier House, St. Peter’s Church, Green Lane the following day (10am-4pm) with free refreshments. The theme this year is ‘Conservation Areas’, which are areas of notable historic interest or importance. We have information and some great photographs showing Formby’s only Conservation Area; the Green Lane Conservation Area.

Registered as a Charity, later affiliated with the Civic Trust, and now Civic Voice, the Society was founded in 1953 to "foster the identity of Formby, safeguard its amenities, develop it cultural activities and encourage local studies". The Society is affiliated with the national body ‘Civic Voice’, the Northwest Association of Civic Trusts and the Merseyside Civic Society.
