Air Ambulance called to two young boys injured in a collision in Formby
Two young boys were injured this evening at the bottom of Formby Bridge. Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance Service received reports of the collision on Duke Street in Formby.
Merseyside Police are appealing for information to an RTC on the roundabout at Formby Bridge and Duke Street this evening at approximately 6:30pm. Formby Bridge remained closed for almost two hours. The Air Ambulance was also called to the scene in Formby this evening, Sunday 6th May at approximately 7:15pm. It landed on Duke Street Park.
There were eight police cars, four ambulances and two paramedics at the scene. The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene.
We have been informed that it was two boys, one aged 12 years and one aged 13 years old. An eyewitness said that one of the boys is believed to have sustained a broken leg. One of the boys was airlifted to hospital. Police were still at the scene at 8:15pm. The scene was cordoned off with blue police tape. Neither of the boys are thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries. The boys were taken to Alder Hey hospital.
