Over 90 vehicles caught speeding on the Formby bypass on Wednesday evening with minimum speed record
As a result of complaints from the community around Formby By Pass, and the local authority, the Safer Roads Team of Merseyside Police carried out an enforcement operation on the by pass at Moss Bank, by the junction with the Microlight centre. This was carried out on Wednesday 2nd May.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "From 5:00PM till 9:00PM a total of 93 vehicles were captured speeding, using the new hi tec Motorcycle Ranger Laser device."
"The minimum Speed detected was 68mph the maximum was 99mph. All the incidents will be processed in the next few days with all drivers and riders receiving notices of intended prosecutions in the post. The types of vehicles caught were cars and motorcycles."
