Stolen property, Scrambler bikes, drugs and a weapon, all seized in Formby
Officers from the North Sefton Local Policing Team responded to a report of nuisance scrambler bikes on the football fields at Deansgate Lane in Formby yesterday, Sunday 8th April.
As a result, a bike was seized and a 21 year old man from Fazakerley was issued with a warning under Section 59 of the Police reform Act 2002 which means that any vehicle owned or used by the male in an anti-social manner can be seized immediately, even if being used by someone else.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "Officers not only seized the off-road bike shown, In fact they seized two more vehicles, a white Ford Transit panel van and a Ford Mondeo."
"The van that had transported the scrambler bikes to the field was found to contain property believed to be stolen in recent burglaries, which is now under investigation. There was also an amount of cannabis and the fearsome looking machete pictured."
"The Ford Mondeo was found to contain a bike believed to have been stolen in a burglary in Formby that occurred in February. We are now looking to contact the victims of that burglary to confirm ownership of the bike."
"Stolen property, vehicles used in crime, drugs and a weapon, all recovered. A good result all round for Team 1 of the North Sefton Local Policing Team!"
