MP congratulates Formby school on recent Ofsted result
Sefton Central MP Bill Esterson visited Formby’s Redgate school on Children In Need day to congratulate staff and pupils on their recent Ofsted Inspection.
The school was inspected recently and was judged "good", after previously being found to require improvement.
The school was also found to be "outstanding" in the area of personal development and welfare.
Mr Esterson said: “The school has made great progress under the leadership of Suzanne Webb and everyone at the school should be proud of the recent Ofsted result.
“Every time I visit the school I find it a very friendly and welcoming place where there are always children willing to tell you how much they enjoy going to Redgate.
“Well done to all involved.”
The Ofsted inspection report stated that “due to good teaching, pupils make good progress in a range of subjects, including science, art, design technology, languages, history, geography and physical education.”
It also said: “Pupils, parents and carers, and staff are very positive in their views of the school. It is a happy, purposeful and safe place to learn and work.”
Bill met with the headteacher and pupils from the school council.
