Man charged with sexual assault was apprehended in Formby
On 29th September, Merseyside Police issued an appeal for the public’s help to trace a wanted man from Wigan.
Police were hunting a Wigan man charged with sexual assault. Michael Brown, 47, was wanted after failing to appear at Liverpool Crown court after being charged with sexual assault. He has links to the Merseyside area. Police issue wanted posters to all shops and businesses around Merseyside.
People were warned, If you see Brown please do not approach him but contact police as a matter of urgency.
On Monday 30th October, eagle-eyed staff at a convenience store in Formby recognised the man when he was in the shop at the till. The Police were called on 999 and the man was apprehended around the corner in Sealand Close.
It is thought that the man had been hiding out in the grounds at Shorrocks Hill.
