OPEN HOUSE new season begins
Open House, as the name suggests, is open to everyone! Although it is held in the Maple Room of Formby Methodist Church, Elbow Lane, all are welcome, regardless of denomination or even if you don't have one at all. Meetings are held on alternate Tuesdays, at 8.00 pm, preceded by refreshments from 7.30. Admission is free. There is a wide variety of topics, local and non-local, from 'Hearing Dogs for the Deaf' and 'Norway's Fjords' to 'the Formby Tapestry' and 'Air Traffic Control at Woodvale'.
The pre- Christmas programme is as follows: 5 Sept - 'A Life on the Ocean Wave', Rev Derek Bowker 19 Sept - 'Walking the Camino', Heather Draper 3 Oct - 'Norway's Fairytale Fjords', Gordon Bartley 17 Oct - 'Yellowstone National Park', Trevor Davenport 31 Oct - 'Childhood Recollections' 14 Nov - 'The Formby Tapestry', John Phillips 28 Nov - 'Air Traffic Control at Woodvale', Carol Cairns 12 Dec - 'Christmas Evening'
