Village Vets Annual dog show returns on Saturday 2nd September
On Saturday 2nd September 2017, The Village Vets situated at 1 Brows Lane in Formby are hosting their 6th Annual Dog Show in the grounds of the practice from 12:30pm to 4pm.
This is a very popular event for the community and everyone is invited! There is plenty going on during the day too! We have ‘West Lancs Dog Display Team’ doing an agility display. There will be craft stalls from local artists, live music, pet photographer, face painting, tea, coffee and cakes along with pony rides. We also have the ever popular bottle tombola and teddy tombola.
Face Painting
It is set to be a busy day and we are hoping to raise lots of money for our two chosen charities, Cinnamon trust and Breast cancer care. Cinnamon trust are a charity who help the elderly look after their pets when their owner becomes poorly or unable to provide adequate care. They provide national fostering for pets whose owners face a spell in hospital, volunteers take their pets into their own homes and provide love and care until their owners return home. They also provide long term care for pet’s whose owners have died or moved into residential accommodation which won’t accept pets. They provide regular visits when possible and keep the owners up to date on how their pet is doing in their care with regular letters and photos. Breast cancer care are a charity who provide vital support to people and their families whilst they battle this dreadful disease.
Student Veterinary Nurse Georgia McGee said: ‘‘The Annual Dog Show is always a great success and there is always a good turnout! In the past we have raised over £1,500 for hack back and nowzad each in 2016 and £1,500 for Hounds for Heroes in 2015.”
Registered Veterinary Nurse Stephanie Driscoll Said: ”As a practice, we enjoy raising money for charity, we have a bake sale each September to raise money for Macmillan. We have a loose change pot at reception which we donate to a chosen charity when we reach £100, before choosing another charity and starting again.’’
Live Music
