Sefton Coast Landscape Partnership
The Speckled Wood butterflies of early autumn were positively quivering this morning at Lifeboat Rd, Formby which was hardly surprising as the meanest bunch of buccaneers this side of Tortuga had dropped anchor to take part in Sefton Coast Landscape Partnership Pirate Treasure Trail and try to find Natterjack Jake's treasure. Once they'd stowed their cutlasses, this fearsome band easily cracked the pirate's treasure map and were soon filling their piratty mitts with gold, silver and parroty booty. Yaaarrr!!!

They even had time to run up a few pirate flags, which was a tad messy as they were using charcoal, but who said being a pirate was a tidy business? Many thanks to everyone who joined us for a marvellous morning - and very special thanks to Jayne for all her hard work making sure the pirate trail through the dunes and pines was one to remember. Even if her pirate impression is more Frankie Howerd than Edward Teach!
