Body of a man has been found in Ainsdale

Update The man is believed to be a 59 year-old from the Sefton area. His next of kin have been informed but formal identification has yet to take place. The death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious and a file has been passed to the coroner. ORIGINAL At 10:30 this morning today, 26 June, Merseyside Police received a call from a member of the public reporting the body of a deceased man on the marshland adjacent to the Coastal Road in Ainsdale.

Police officers and paramedics attended the scene.

Officers are making further enquiries and are investigating the circumstances of the man’s death.
