Customers evacuated after a fire at the Grapes in Formby
Merseyside Fire and Rescue were called to a fire at approximately 7:30pm tonight, Thursday 22nd June at the Grapes pub in Formby.
It is believed that a computer went on fire in the upstairs office.
Firefighters evacuated the building and customers had to leave without paying their bills. An ambulance attended the scene along with three fire appliances. Firefighters got the fire under control and stayed on the scene until approximately 8:45pm.
The pub has remained closed whilst the damage is assessed. There were no serious injuries.
The Grapes will be open for business as usual tomorrow.
