Formby Weekly Market on every Friday on Chapel Lane
Formby weekly market is on Friday 9th June, with loads of stalls for you to explore. On all day until 5pm so plenty of time to take an hour out. Whilst you are in the village, don't forget to also visit your local shops which need as much support as possible. Hopefully everyone will benefit from this new venture in our Bubble.
So far this has been a great success and is visited by people from all over Merseyside.
Don't forget to visit and support our fantastic Independent shops whilst in the village.

Formby Parish Council is pleased to say that since announcing the opening of a weekly Friday Market, interest in this venture has been beyond all expectations. Not only has all 30 stalls been allocated to various traders, the Parish Council has received an unprecedented amount of support from local businesses and most importantly the people of Formby.
The weekly market will commence this Friday 12th May and run till the end of September 2017 all except for one day 2nd June due to a contractual agreement made some time ago. The items being sold vary immensely, a lot of which you cannot purchase in Formby itself. There will be Bedding, Fashion Accessories, ladies underwear, Food Stands, Rugs, Plants, Wool, Pet Trade items, Handmade Soaps, Artisan Cakes and Bread. As well as all this, there is even a stall selling garden scarecrows at very reasonable prices which young children will love.
As mentioned previously the Parish Council is trying to encourage more shoppers into Formby Retail area which is affectionately called ‘The Village’. It has a good varied selection of shops and the Parish Council was concerned that this market may impinge on their trade but, we feel that we have struck the right balance of items being sold by the market traders that everyone will benefit from this venture.
There will be on various Fridays throughout the season, one stall allocated free of charge to a prominent Formby Based organisation in order to promote itself as well as to sell items. There has been a lot of interest in this and quite a lot of the dates have been allocated already. These organisations such as The Rotary Club, Befriending Schemes, Cancer Research and many others will have the chance to inform the people of Formby of what their organisations do. One particular stall on the 16th June is by the Formby Civic Society which will have many thousands of photographs available to view (even to purchase) of Old Formby. They will also have maps, models of buildings long gone from Formby and some very interesting books of Formby which I am told are reasonable priced.
The Market Season in Formby looks to be an exciting event and will put Formby Village in the spotlight and hopefully bring a lot of much needed patronage to our shops.
